Tuesday 13 July 2004

Strathtay Dennis Dart/Wright 301 has been painted into new style "stripey" livery.... looking a bit unusual, it has to be said - especially around the front... While I was down the bus station, Optare MetroRider 149 was there too - snapped it up... Both snapped today at Dundee Bus Station.

Friday 2, Saturday 3, Sunday 4 July 2004
The longest one day trip I've done so far - and certainly the one with the most mileage. We ran a little early on the way back, meaning it was a 37.5 hour day... from Dundee via Broxden Park & Ride, Glasgow, Keele Services, Northampton Services, London Victoria and Waterloo, Birmingham, Blackheath, Dudley, West Bromwich, back to Brum, then London Victoria back to Glasgow and Dundee. The four intercity journeys on Megabus cost a total of £6, whilst a one-day bus pass in London cost £2.50, and three of us shared a TWM Daysaver 5 for £5 in the West Midlands. The Epson PhotoPC650 came out of retirement for the "day" and did very well coping with well over 100 photos. When we got back to Dundee on Sunday morning... Dock Street busway was closed for roadworks meaning diversions via Yeaman Shore - where we'd just been dropped off... Anyway, take a look at the photos - a total of 72 of them are now online!

Saturday 19 June 2004 A handful of pictures from around Dundee city centre.

Left Travel Dundee's ex-TWM Dennis Dart 88 is seen in Commercial Street. The bus had just arrived and was waiting for the arrival of 86 (which it was replacing) before the rostered driver took over the vehicle. Right Strathtay recently fitted new LED displays to 702/3 to mean all their digital displays are of the same type. This Volvo B7/East Lancs is also seen in Commercial Street.
Left Travel Dundee 67 - the rear end of it - also in Commercial Street. Right While it might still be a few months until the Volvo B7/Wright Gemini's arrive (there is now a press release on Wright's website as the order for these is now 90 - 18 for Dundee, 20 for London, and 52 for West Midlands), but this is the second time a B7 double decker has got on the 28/29 of late. Anyway, it is seen at the Royal Exchange building in Albert Square.

Saturday 12 June 2004 Somewhat of a "bouncy" trip - to fit in a few different things that I wanted to do. Dundee to Monifieth, Ballumbie Castle, Craichie, Arbroath, back to Dundee, then to Scone Park & Ride, then Perth city centre, and back to Dundee. See the photos here.

Saturday 29 May 2004 Trip to Perth to snap Stagecoach and Docherty's Optare Solo's - and got a bit more too. See the photos here.
